Bad Ass Mopars - M4S Page
Dodge M4S Concept

I'll bet there are many people out there in cyberspace that haven't seen this "bad ass" Mopar yet. Meet the one and only Dodge M4S concept vehicle. This vehicle was developed with the help (funding) of PPG Industries. This car was developed for the PPG Race Car Series. The series was developed as a marketing tool for PPG. They provided the captial to auto manufacturers to develop "one off" vehicles to be used as pace cars for the 1986 Indy Racing Series.

Car Details:

Of course, when Dodge was brought to the table they decided to build a car that was wicked. Their goal was to get the car to whip around the track. The motor they used as the base power plant was the Chrysler 2.2L engine. Sound familiar? Only they did not stop there. They added a pair of Garret T25 turbos! That's right - twin turbocharged!

This motor is unbelievable. First of all, it is a 2.2L DOHC 16 valve four-cylinder motor that is twin turbocharged. That is not an easy task to perform. Secondly, this car's twin turbos produce 23 psi of boost. And lastly, this motor makes 440 brake horse power! That is amazing. Here is the advertisement for the bad ass motor....

Transmitting that massive power through a stock transmission was not an option. The engineers strengthened the 5-speed manual transmission that would be placed in the vehicle. With all of that power, plus a drag coefficient of 0.236, the M4S tops out at 194 mph. For more information and pictures click on the links below.
